Massachussetts-based electronic musician GREG DAVIS is considered
to be one of the innovators of the so-called 'folktronica' subgenre,
which uses acoustic and natural sounds as part of the concretist
electronic compositional mix (along with others such as Four Tet and
Kim Hiorthoy). Kind of a John Fahey of the laptop set. He has several
acclaimed releases on New York-based IDM/indie label Carpark Records.

This Monday March 29, Greg Davis will perform with a full band at
Garfield Artworks, 4931 Penn Avenue, in Garfield (site of such recent
electronic shows as Accelera Deck, Randy Garcia, Cotton Museum, and
Wolf Eyes). Opening will be three Carnegie Mellon-derived electronic
artists who are going on to big things: Colongib vs. Octopus Inc.
(Kracfive recording artists), ROTFLOL (of the Paperrad collective),
and the duo Hooliganship (a bit of performance with their art).
Doors open at 8 pm, admission is $7, and the show is open to all ages.

Hope to see you there.

Other electronic shows coming up:
April 1 - Kites / Prurient (Providence noise team, from Lightning
Bolt's label, Load Records) @ Kiva Han
April 3 - Voltage / Superwow @ Garfield Artworks
(ex-members of 5RC recording artists The Seconds, from NYC)
April 6 - Needle Sharing / Larvae @ Garfield Artworks
(for the avant-goth set: from Germany, industrial drum 'n bass
powernoise on the Hands label!)
April 8 - Antentacle (members of Man Is the Bastard & Creation Is
Crucifixion, plus Rick Gribenas) @ Garfield Artworks

Boycott Clear Channel's Fantomas/Melt-Banana show! Sign a petition at
any one of these upcoming shows. It will be presented to Mike Patton.
