manny,

when you talk about things you truly know about, its very informative. but
when you try to get on the soap box and 'drop science' without checking your
facts, that is to say you assume, you end up looking like a french shower.

in actuality, alcohol is not officially prohibitied on cmu's campus. see this link:
http://www.cmu.edu/policies/documents/DrugAlcohol.html
as long as you are 21, dont sell your booze, give it to minors, drink it
outside, or get visibly intoxicated, you are within cmu's policies.
you need to follow state law as well, of course, but that probably goes
without saying... so anyway, if you wanted to bring some alcoholic beverages
to tonights concert, and you were relatively discrete about it while following
the above policies, you could do so with very little risk.

thats not to say that they couldnt escort you off campus if they felt like it,
(if youre not a member of the campus community they can remove you for no reason)
or arrest you if youre acting like a drunken ass, but i dont see where it
says that alcohol is officially prohibited on campus. on the contrary, it
sounds like alcohol is permitted on campus with a few restrictions. in fact,
i have friends who took some film class where they sat and watched movies the
whole time, and those of legal age often brough refreshments to enjoy while
attending -- with no complaints from the professor. ymmv.

thank you, drive through.

ps: am i the only who thought that jeremy's first email on this topic was really funny?

CMU? is it a bar? byob?

No, it's a university, so alcohol is officially prohibited on campus
and campus cops could arrest you or escort you off the campus if they see
you with it. That's the same as with shows at Pitt, Chatham, etc.
