FAIREST
THE BLACK TALE OF SNOW WHITE

Written and Directed By
Pittsburgh Playwright
James Michael Shoberg

Based on the Folk Tale By
Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm

Hot on the tail of their wildly successful Twisted Monologues in June,
The Rage of the Stage Players, Pittsburgh's dark/alternative theatre company, are back with our unique stage adaptation of the classic Grimms' folk tale Schneewittchen (or "Little Snow White" ), entitled,
Fairest: The Black Tale of Snow White.

Far removed from our usual skewed and conceptualized adaptations of classic favorites such as: Little Red Riding Hood, Dracula, Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland, and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Fairest: The Black Tale of Snow White is a more direct presentation, whose "concept" is to enrich audiences with the story they never knew. But fear not, Rage fans, this dark tale of vanity, treachery, and the vulnerability of innocence, is not without many of the elements you've come to demand from us.
We will not disappoint!

Under the creative direction of Greg Lightner and...

...with costumes by Carrie L. Shoberg, you will be treated to one of the most famous of folk tales, visualized in a lavish and stunning fashion!

FEATURING THE TALENTS OF:

Charlsey Bickett, Angelica Bondy, Geoff Bowman, Elliot Gardner,
Rob Henry, Lori Howsare, Allison Scarlet Jaye, Jenna Lanz,
Kimberly Legler, Marcus Muzopappa, Liz Roberts, Harry J. Roth,
Brittany Spinelli, Thomas Sterner, Danielle Jackson Thorn,
Peter Anthony Vetrini, Skylar Walton, and David Wooddell.

Drawing from the earliest versions of the story, unfamiliar to many,  Pittsburgh playwright James Michael Shoberg weaves an epic

re-telling, with a large ensemble cast of talented performers. Audiences will enjoy watching the tale they thought they knew, this time, seen through the perspective of a Vain Queen (Allison Scarlet Jaye), whose jealousy and desperation awaken a demonic creature (Twisted Monologues "Bogeyman," Rob Henry), residing behind the surface of her most prized possession, a grand mirror. Together with the help of a bloodthirsty Huntsman (Harry J. Roth), they seek to destroy the one thing that stands between the Queen and her all-consuming desire to be "Fairest in the Land"...her very own daughter (Jenna Lanz).
