it could be worse.

Seattle has had a complete ban on all ages shows for what, 6 or 7 years
now? at least all ages show are legal in this city, if not profitable
to businesses. it takes idealism to do them.

if Columbus has 'a dozen' 200+ venues, then Pgh already has enough in
comparison (taking both smaller population, older demographics and the
more draconian PA liquor laws into account)
- we have 7 or 8 for live music.
and if you count the stuff in the strip and station
square, nearly a dozen.
which is enough. people barely support the ones that
exist now, as it is.

as i already told joey, the only thing that might seem to make sense
is to open a hipster bar in the Penn Avenue Corridor. that area could
use a few more anchor/destination businesses to boost it. pretty soon
you are going to have to get used to going there regardless.
