When I heard them in Philly a little over a week ago, they were nothing more
than generic oontz-oontz-oontz bullshite. I remember the last time they
played in Pittsburgh (with Voltaire at that burlesque thingee at the Rex, I
believe it was) they had a *much* more interesting, trip-hop-influenced
sound--a little heavy, a little ethereal, and a lot of fun. Their latest
single, though, "Water for the Dead," is a completely cliched EBM
number...which is sad, because I rather like the melody and the Dune
references in the lyrics. Idaknow. Maybe Halou or King Kooba will remix it
and make it cool.

Or just getting together with a couple of friends and making fun of the band
while they're on? You can easily mock people without being obnoxious--you
just need a little tact. But tact is a lost cause amongst the slackjawed
little metallings that events such as this draw anymore....Hence the reason
I barely go to shows anymore.
