Are you a fan of 80s electro, Miami bass, and electroclash? Do you like Shannon,
Egyptian Lover, Cybotron, and Breakin II: Electronic Boogaloo? How about
Fischerspooner, Peaches, Freezepop, and Gil Mantera's Party Dream? Do you like
vocoders and pitchshifters, pulsing break beats, and songs about unicorns and
'girls gone wild'?

Then you'll definitely want to check out Los Angeles duo CAPTAIN AHAB
(http://www.captain-ahab.com). Their 2004 album 'The Sex is Next' is one of the
best electronic-dance albums of recent memory - XLR8R and Muzik magazines loved
it, Diesel Jeans gave its approval, and Hefty Records picked up a track from it
for a compilation - and the new 'After the Rain My Heart Still Dreams' is
pretty good, too.

They'll be here with L.A. indie electro-box knob-twiddling wizard BOOKS ON TAPE,
and locals LORD GRUNGE (the charismatic rapper of Grand Buffet) and 8 CYLINDER
(the man responsible for the awesome 'Jagoff Uprising' double vinyl comp!).

Thu May 4 8 pm all ages show only $6!
Garfield Artworks, 4931 Penn Avenue
