re: What is goth? Okay, at the risk of complete self-deprecation: THAT IS SO GAY! *Ouch* I forgot this kind of electronic trash still exists. This is the reason so many mainstream club "djs" think electronic music should not have lyrics (aside from the usual woman moaning throughout the whole song, that is).

re: Beer and grub. Hmm... maybe D's doesn't sound so bad. Actually, with the exception of the football/soccer fiends, Piper's sounds like my kind of place. I love scotch. (And my experience is that folks who are into scotch have pretty hearty taste in beer as well.) Liz, thx for the headsup on the closing, though! I was on the site and didn't even notice, because I was too busy looking for the taplist!

As for Belgians... I'm not a fan of MOST, either, Brian: they're too fizzy, cold and low in alcohol. But I do love a Belgian quad or strong ale served at cellar-temp. Belgians are more of a food-pairing beer, tough--which is what I like to do.

And that brings me to ChurchBrew... I HATE the typcial pub-grub you find in most brewpubs. They take all this pride in their beer, then have the gumption to serve it with a greasy burger and soggy fries. Things are slowly changin' though... and ChurchBrew has it's head on pretty straight, in my estimation. They just need to allow their menu to cater to all budgets. If nothing else, you must agree that their homemade birchbeer is the bomb!
