hotels in the area

Well... I dunno about Pgh, but I can tell you that I've had GREAT experiences with Hosteling International--both in Toronto and NYC.  The prices are low, they sometimes offer a do-it-yourself kitchen... as well as breakfast accomodations.  Apparently some locations even let you choose how many roommates you'd ideally like to have.

I would tell you to pack lightly, to bring a padlock (for on-site lockers), and to check on late-night re-entry (if you're as nocturnal as I am, at least).  They typically do not allow alcohol on the property, but if you're smart about it, you can sneak a nice bottle of beer or wine in.  (Just leave no footprints and you'll be fine.)  My favourite part of the Toronto trip--apart from the completely plastered Irish guy who was a fixture in the tv-room--was the non-segregation by sex... and bringing my own coffee grinder and french-press thermos to have REAL coffee at the start of each day!

Hi,

Can any of you recommend a pretty nice hotel, preferably very near on on the
500 or 16b bus line? I'm coming back into Pittsburgh with my gf for a
week,
and am looking for recommendations.

I had hoped the Avalon Motel would be an option, but, after talking to
people, am going to stay away from that shithole as far as I can :). Nicki
does not need to come frm Australia to that kinda crap lol.

I'm also willing to consider cabbing it if the price is low enough. Was
looking at Motel 6 for example.

Have looked around online, but bus access isn't one of the things I've
found.

Any help would be muchly appriciated.

peace,
Rick
